AMHERST - Donna Jean Brightbill (nee: Mack), 79 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Specialty Hospital of Lorain, in Amherst following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 8, 1932 in Lorain, Ohio. Donna had made her home in Amherst since 1953.
Donna was a loving housewife and mother. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Amherst. Donna's greatest passion in life was being a Christian and serving her Lord and Savior and spending time with her family and fulfilling her roll as a wife, mother and grandmother.
Donna leaves to cherish her memory her husband of sixty-two years Glen Eugene Brightbill; her son and his wife James C. and Debra Brightbill of Vermilion; daughters Janet L. Reid Trelka of Amherst, Julie A. Cogar and her husband Robert of Lorain; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and her brother and his wife Richard J. and Jacci Mack of Amherst.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Shirley M. Mack in 1929, Carlene Zabrecky in 1996; and her parents Carl and Hazel F. Mack (nee: Butler).
Friends may call Wednesday, February 29, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church; 440 North Lake Street, Amherst. The Rev. Michael Plog, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Ohio.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Faith Baptist Church; 440 North Lake Street, Amherst, OH 44001.
