Dorothy (Bott) Karasevic Obituary
Aunt Dorothy, 92, is what everyone knew her as, whether related to her or not. She and her beloved husband of 59 years, Joe, never had children of their own. They considered their nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews their children.
She began her working life as a young girl, on the farm and cleaning homes, before becoming a buyer for the once popular clothing store, Smith and Gerhart. She was later employed by Entron, and then Invacare, where she retired from in 1975.
Dorothy loved patronizing the internet cafes. She felt they were one of the few safe places for older folks to go. Aunt Dorothy baked every day, sharing her goodies with family and friends. Nobody left Aunt Dorothy's home hungry, with a full meal or a muffin, were always available. She and her "famous" bran muffins will be missed.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 9, 2013, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m., at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Dr. David Howell, Pastor of First Congregational Church UCC of North Ridgeville, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, 3500 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053.
