Elnora Marie Woods-Klier Obituary
Elnora Marie Woods- Klier (nee Hicks), 75 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away January 2, 2018, at Avon Oaks Nursing Home after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Elnora was born October 17, 1942 in Lorain and graduated from Clearview High School with the class of 1960. She lived the majority of her life in the greater Elyria and Lorain areas.
Elnora was formerly employed by the Chronicle Telegram as a bookkeeper. She retired from ConSun Foods in 2007, after 30 years of service. She was a past member of Elyria Baptist Church and was most recently attending Beth-el Baptist in Elyria. She was an accomplished violin player and performed with the Good News Messengers, Singing Seniors, and at many local churches during their music jams. Many other groups enjoyed her music such as Elyria Baptist, Faith United Methodist, the Jolly Sixties, and the Fuller Road Church and Nordson Depot Music Jams. She loved to play music and enjoyed playing other instruments as well. If she wasn't playing, she was going somewhere to be entertained by musicians. By far her greatest love was for her family, her two sons and two granddaughters. She baby-sat regularly for her great nephew for 5 years until recent days.
She is survived by her sons Eric (Susan Cooper) Klier of Hockessin, DE; Mark Klier of Elyria; granddaughters Elizabeth and Emma Klier of DE; her brothers Donald (Elizabeth) Hicks of Lagrange; William (Deb) Hicks of Denver, PA; Larry (Kathy) Hicks of Amherst; her sisters Elaine Hall of Amherst; Laura (Todd) Post of Lorain; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry L. Hicks Jr. and Beulah Marie Hicks (nee: Fraley); her brothers Daniel, Robert, and Charles; and her grandmother Daisy Belle Fraley.
A reception and celebration of life service will be held Monday, January 15, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Beth-el Baptist Church 10170 West Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elnora's memory to the Mercy Foundation of Lorain to benefit the cancer center, 3700 Kolbe Rd., Lorain Ohio 44053
