Frank Bari, 81, of Amherst Township, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 in Lorain Specialty Hospital, Amherst following a lengthy illness.

He was born January 19, 1932 in Pacin, Hungary. He immigrated to Lorain with fellow Hungarian Freedom Fighters in November of 1956. He lived with his family in Amherst and in 1984 moved with his wife to the house, he built in Amherst Township.
Mr. Bari retired as a Millwright in 1994 from the General Motors, Adelphi Plant in Sandusky. He worked there for 5 years, after working for Elyria's Fischer Body plant for 35 years. Before that he worked for Lorain Ford Assembly Plant and Retay Welding.
Frank was an active member of Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ in Lorain. He was member of the church's Consistory Board for many years. Last month he was presented a Honorary Consistory Member certificate. He was also a member of his churches' Brotherhood, Hungarian Friends, American Hungarian Citizens Council and the United Auto Workers. Frank loved his home and his family. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping his yard and fishing from his boat. He was a craftsman with steel, creating garden furniture and plant hangers.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 55 years Arlene C. (née Fazekas) of Amherst Township; sons Les Bari of Amherst and Robert Bari of Wakeman and grandchildren Nikole Bari, Melissa Simon, Lisa Jorgensen, Meaghan Bari, Shawn Bari, Haleigh Bari and Rebecca Bari.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Sandor and Zsofia (née Kiraly) Bari; sister Ethel Bari; and brothers Sandor Bari and Lazlo Bari.
His family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call Wednesday from 10 until time of his funeral service at 11:00 AM in Hungarian Reformed Church, 1691 East 31st Street, with internment at the Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
