NORTH RIDGEVILLE - George C. Barber, 70, of North Ridgeville, passed away at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria, following a long struggle.
Mr. Barber was born in Cleveland on December 7, 1942 and was a North Ridgeville resident for 37 years. He served in the US Navy from 1962-1967. Mr. Barber was a retired Robotic Technician from Ford Motor Company where he spent nearly 30 years working in the Avon Lake Plant. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and Amvets.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Marie (nee Kuzilla) and one son Dean (Rosalyn) of Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; his parents Charles and Emma Barber; 2 young sisters and one brother Rich Barber.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 18, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Freedom Chapel located in the Mausoleum at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Rd (Rt. 83), Avon. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum at Resthaven. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.
