Hilda J. Fracchione Schramm

1919 - 2010

AMHERST - Hilda J. Fracchione Schramm (nee: Kirschner), 91 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a short illness.
She was born July 21, 1919 in Amherst, Ohio where she has lived most of her life.
Hilda was a beautician and owned and operated Hildagarde's in Lakewood for over twenty years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Amherst. She served with Meals on Wheels and was very active with the Animal Protective League and involved in many dog rescues. Her hobbies included gardening, listening to music, interior decorating, and keeping on top of current events.
Survivors include three stepdaughters, Arlene Schepflin and her husband Fred of Michigan, Sharon Doar and her husband Gene of North Carolina, and Susanne Poole of Indiana; her sisters Evelyn "Ev" Kreeger and her husband Speed of Amherst, Helen Nemec of Westlake, and Eda Freeland of Elyria; her care giving granddaughter Mary Ellen Benko and her husband Mark of Lorain; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and her faithful dog, Tobey.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Fracchione in 1960; her second husband William Schramm in 1984; her stepdaughter Pauline Klembek; her parents Ben and Emma Kirschner (nee: Manke); and her brother Herman Kirschner.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 22, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Paul Lutheran; 115 Central Dr., Amherst. The Rev. Terrance Adamson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
