LORAIN - Janice M. Peters (nee Stempowski), age 49, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at her home following a lengthy illness.|
Born on March 13, 1964, Janice grew up in Vermilion and graduated from Firelands High School in 1983. She made Lorain her home since 1989.
Passionate about giving of time and talent, Janice spent many hours volunteering. She volunteered with the Admiral King High School NJROTC from 1997-2005. She also volunteered at Meister Road Elementary School and Frank Jacinto Elementary School.
Janice's greatest joy came from spending time with her immediate and extended family.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Phillip; her sons, Gregory Ward, of Lorain and Donald Ward of Virginia; her daughter, Crystal Rodriguez, of Lorain; her grandchildren, Krystian, Kaleb and Faith Rodriguez, and Matthew and Brayden Ward; her parents, Edward and Sharon (nee Butcher) Stempowski; her brothers, Edward (Denise), of Pekin, IN, Christopher (Kimberly) of Vermilion, Michael (Lori), of Lorain and Matthew, of Lorain and William (Tracy), of Lorain; and her sister, Brenda Stempowski, of Vermilion; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Glen and Nina Butcher and paternal grandparents, Edward and Beverly Stempowski.
The Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 31st in the funeral center at 11:00 a.m.
