Jerome E. Williams
ELYRIA – Jerome E. Williams, 48, of Elyria, Owner/Manager of J&J's Famous Ribs on Oberlin Avenue in Lorain, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness.
He was born in Lorain on February 29, 1964 and had been a lifelong resident of Lorain County.
Jerome was employed as a Butcher at Giant Eagle. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Alliance Church in Elyria and a Graduate of Lorain High School where he played football. Jerome enjoyed coaching, fishing, especially at Lake Pymatuning, hunting, music, bingo, playing cards, and spending time with his family and many friends.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Felicia Williams; sons, Jaa'rome Williams and Tyrone Williams, both of Elyria; mother, Carrie Williams of Wooster; sister, Barbara (Ben) Davis of Wooster; brothers, Virgil (Mary) Williams Jr. of Texas, Bradley Williams Sr. of Lorain, Charles Williams Sr. of Lorain, Patrick Williams of Columbus, Joseph Williams of North Carolina and Bryant Williams of Detroit; sister-in-laws, Becky (Bryan) Atkinson of Lorain and Krisy Davis of Elyria; brother-in-laws, Keith Stout of Tennessee, Kim Stout of Florida, and Travis Stout of Montana; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil S.L. Williams; sister, Wanda Williams; and his sister-in-law, Joetta Brunger.
A Spaghetti Dinner Benefit will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 from 4-8 PM at St. Lads Church 4421 Clinton Avenue, Lorain.
The Funeral will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 1 PM with the Wake beginning at 12 NOON at Mt Olivet Alliance Church, 626 Lorain Blvd. Elyria with Pastor Joseph L. Gause officiating. Minister Shirley Howard will perform the Eulogy.
The family would like to thank the many friends and relatives for their prayers and support during this difficult time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wyers Funeral Chapel of Sheffield Township.
