SHEFFIELD VILLAGE - Joan Marie Fletcher (nee Dombrowski), 68, of Sheffield Village, died Friday, November 18, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 12, 1943 in Lorain, OH and has lived in Sheffield Village since her childhood.
Joan worked for the City of North Olmsted in the engineering department for over 20 years, retiring in 2005.
She was a lifelong member of St. Teresa of Avila Parish, Sheffield Village where she was very active with different church activities and sang in the choir. She was an incredible mother and inspiration to not only her loved ones, but also those she came in contact with throughout her life. She had a tremendous passion for her beautiful flowers and her loving family. She enjoyed nature and loved life.
Joan is survived by her son, Mark James Fletcher of Vermilion; daughter, Dawn Marie Fletcher of Boulder City, NV; brother, Ben Dombrowski of Vermilion, Twp.; sisters, Phyllis Turner of Vermilion, and Cecilia Spando of Wadsworth, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Fletcher in 1980; parents, Benjamin and Anne (nee Mikulski) Dombrowski; and brothers, Jerome and Daniel Dombrowski.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November, 21, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1939 Oberlin Avenue Lorain Ohio. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 10:30 am followed by an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Teresa of Avila Parish 1878 Abbe Rd. Sheffield Village, OH 44054. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Cemetery.
