LORAIN - John Clifford Hough, 83, of Lorain, passed away April 14, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center in Lorain. He was born December 16, 1929 in Woodland, Georgia and lived in this area since 1950.
John honorably served in the U.S. Army and retired as a truck driver from the former Gel-Pak Co. in Lorain. He was a member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church where he once served on the usher board and building fund committee. He was dedicated to voting the elections, was an avid sports fan and loved to cook. He also enjoyed gardening and had a community garden. He was a very giving person and was a mentor to many youths and members of his family.
He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Martha Pye and Annie Hough, both of Lorain, and Lula Gibson of New York; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy C. and Martha (Reese) Hough; brothers, Curtis Hough and Robert H. Hough; a sister, Bertha Miller; sisters-in-law, Daisy Hough and Elizabeth Hough
Visitation will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 from 10a.m. until time of service at 11a.m. at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 3880 Dayton Ave., Lorain. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
