Johnie Ray Leibee, age 86, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, at Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Hardy, Kentucky September 20, 1927.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1946-1948. Johnie retired from the Plain Dealer in 1986 and was a member of Christian Life Church in Lorain. He enjoyed music and playing his guitar.
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Leibee; grandson, David; five step-children; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jesse Lebiee; parents, Edward and Aze Leibee; brothers, Milton, Charles, Donald,; and sisters; Kathleen and Rita.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Rd., Sheffield Township.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel and interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park with Military Honors.
