Kathy J Vargovich

LORAIN– Kathy J. Vargovich (née Sample) 61 of Lorain passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011 in Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain following a brief illness.
She was born February 17, 1950 in Glendale, California. She moved to Lorain in 1971. Kathy was an very active member of Saint Frances Cabrini Parish, Lorain. Where she was on the parish council, was a past president of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Roman Curia and an Altar Server. She was also a Eucharistic minister taking the Holy Sacrament to shut-ins. She taught 2nd Grade Catechism. Her enjoyments included reading, traveling, crossword puzzles and her computer. Kathy was very generous with her time and talents.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 41 years Paul E. Vargovich of Lorain; her son David R. Vargovich; step-daughters Catherine Kremer of San Antonio, Texas and Sheena Morillo of Helotes, Texas; her father and step-mother Norman E. and Mary E. Sample of Hemet, California; brother Mike Sample of Glendora, California and 5 step-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her mother Betty J. Sample.
Her family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain (440)277-8164. Where the Altar and Rosary Society will pray the Rosary. Closing prayers will be Thursday at 9:30 A.M. in the funeral home then 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Frances Cabrini Parish at the corner of Grove Avenue (State Route 57) and Homewood Drive. Rev. Father Edward J. Luca pastor emeritus of Saint Teresa Avila Parish, Sheffield will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
