Marcia Kay Coletta
LORAIN - Marcia Kay Coletta (nee Sperry), age 75, of Lorain, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of New Life Hospice Center. She was born on March 31, 1938 in Memphis, Tennessee and had been a resident of Lorain since 2005 after moving from Heber Springs, Arkansas.
Marcia was a retired bridal consultant; she later worked alongside her husband as a woodcrafter.
She was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Marcia was a life member of the National Rifle Association and was an avid hunter. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and also served as a volunteer for Mercy New Life Hospice.
Marcia is survived by her daughters, Kathy Coletta, of Lorain, Mary (Dan) Ketcham, of Lorain, Donna (Dana) Yarbrough, of Memphis, TN; son, John A. (Donna) Coletta Jr., also residing in Memphis; grandchildren, Zach Ledzius, Leigh Ann (Ken) Kinnison, Michael (Julie Adamic) Davis, Amy Davis, Laurie Davis, Jonathan Yarbrough, Daniel (Ashley) Yarbrough, Joshua (Kristina) Yarbrough, Caren (B.J. ) and Felicia Coletta; great-grandchildren, Gwen Frey, Amara Kinnison, Candence Yarbrough, Allexus Donnelly, Logan Rose, Gunner Rose and Riley Rose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Coletta Sr., in 2008.
The Coletta family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers of Seniors Helping Seniors and the staff at Mercy Life Hospice for the care that they provided throughout Marcia's illness.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where closing prayers will be held on Saturday, March 8th. at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
