Maria Binder Ingels
Maria Binder Ingels, 90, passed away on March 18, 2014, at the home of her daughter in North Carolina.
Maria was born October 10, 1923 in Mesendorf, Romania. She graduated from school at the age of 14 and worked as a nanny and a nurse's aide during World War II. She came to the United States when she was 24. She resided in Grafton, Ohio then moved to the Berlin Heights/Huron area in 1961. She waitressed in several restaurants, sold Avon, was a nurse's aide in Vermilion and retired from Lorain Products in 1988.
Maria enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends and family. She loved working in her garden and baking cookies; and was a great fan of the Cleveland Indians. Maria touched the lives of everyone she knew. She was a very special soul; and people were drawn to her gentleness, her unconditional love and her words of wisdom. She was always smiling and was always giving hugs and kisses to those she cared about. To her, family was everything and she enjoyed every family gathering; especially seeing and spending time with the new additions to the family. She will be truly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, and loving her.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Margaret (Tom) Lenthe of Marblehead, Shirley (Tracy) Fowler of Lakeland, FL, Jeanette (Michael) Bauer of Statesville, NC, Bessie (Dale) Meyers of Huron, and Barbara (Dean) Everett of Sandusky. She was truly blessed with not only her own grandchildren, but she lovingly welcomed and loved her step-grandchildren, their children and the addition of 5 generation pictures with great-great grandchildren.
She is survived by two sisters, Katherine (Kathe) Raez of Canada and Theresa (Thesi) Orendt of Germany; and many nieces and nephews, along with their families.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Anna and Paul Binder; brothers, Paul Binder and Johann Binder; sister, Anna Bidner; and grandson, John Henry Reiber.
Services celebrating her life will be conducted at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 4-7 pm. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m with Rev. Richard Kretchmar officiating. Her final resting place will be at Peaks Cemetery, Berlin Heights.
Our family would like to give a personal thank you to Lindsey, RN. Tracey, CNA. April, CNA. and the entire staff for the compassionate care they gave our Mother. We ask that in lieu of flowers, that donations be given to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 150 Fairview Rd. Mooresville, NC 28117.
