Marjorie Ann Abraham (nee: Ives), 58, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 23, 2011, after fighting a courageous battle with lymphoma. At the time of her passing, Marj was in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her husband, Timothy Abraham, and her three sons, Christopher, Kenneth, and Kyle. |
She was born to Joyce Ives on April 1, 1953 and grew up in Oberlin with her seven siblings. Marj graduated from Firelands High School, where she met the love of her life and her best friend, Tim. Tim and Marj were married on June 17, 1971. The young couple purchased a farm and farmhouse in 1974, and for the next 37 years they created many warm memories as they raised three healthy boys.
Marj loved spending time with family and friends at her home with a special fondness for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, and caring for her many animals. Oberlin was always home for Marj, but she and Tim also traveled a great deal. Their favorite destination was Arizona, which was their home away from home.
Marj recently celebrated 25 years of work for Oberlin College, the majority of these years spent with the Theatre and Dance Department.
Marj leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Tim, her three sons, Chris, Ken (Melissa), and Kyle (Dara), her siblings, Diane Wright, James Ives, Katherine Smith, Irene Hormel, Joan Ives, and Martin Ives, and her grandchildren, Taylor, Travis, Briana, Madison, Atticus, and Finian.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce, on December 25, 2010,and her older brother, Michael Ives and her infant brother, Leslie.
