LORAIN - Marjorie (Kaliszewski) Ilcisko, 77, of Lorain, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Mercy-New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain following a long illness.
Mrs. Ilcisko was born in Lorain on June 4, 1936, and was a lifelong resident of Lorain County. She was the daughter of the late Leo Kaliszewski and the late Norma Fay (nee Goldsmith) Kaliszewski Field. She was a 1954 graduate of Clearview High School. She was a homemaker and had worked at the former A & P Grocery, Pick-N-Pay Grocery, Avon East School, and the Billinghurst IGA.
Mrs. Ilcisko was instrumental in starting the first Brownie Troop at Avon East School in 1964, and also served as president of Avon High School Band Parents for two terms. She enjoyed traveling, but the love of her life was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Mrs. Ilcisko is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Sue (Philip) Shamblin of Rural Retreat, Va., and Jean Socha of Henrietta Township; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Georgene Kochan of Greenville, S.C., and Norma Jean (Kenneth) Dombroski of Strongsville; brother, Leo (Loretta) Kaliszewski of Avon Lake; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kaliszewski of Elyria; five nieces and six nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, John Ilcisko on March 10, 1991; brother, Thomas Kaliszewski; son-in-law, David Socha; and stepfather, Ross Field.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer and Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th St., Lorain.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
