Marvyn O. Braun
VERMILION - Marvyn O. Braun, age 74 and a resident of Vermilion, died Monday, February 11, 2013, at his residence after a long illness.
Marvyn was born July 29, 1938, in Amherst where he resided most of his life. Marvyn was a former member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Amherst. He was a United State Air Force veteran. In 2003, Marvyn retired from Invacare, Elyria, where he had been a parts handler. Prior to being employed at Invacare, Marvyn was a station manager at the former Texaco and Sohio Stations on the Ohio Turnpike.
He enjoyed collecting eagles and most of all, spending time with his dog Marley.
Marvyn was a great father, devoted grandfather, and husband. Survivors include his sons Douglas (Tommye) of Douglasville, Georgia and Michael of Vermilion, daughters Lori Stwan of Auburn, Georgia and Debra (Dean) Kopronica of Vermilion, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Jane C. (nee Schwarz) Braun (1998) and his son-in-law Timothy Stwan.
Family will receive friends Friday, 5-8 p.m., at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. The funeral service will be 8 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. James N. Greenawalt officiating.
In Marvyn's memory, memorials may be made to the Animnal Protective League of Lorain County, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
