Mary J. Wooten
LORAIN - Mary J. Wooten (nee Romero), age 56 and a life resident of Lorain, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
Mary was born in Lorain, September 8, 1956 to the late Victor and Maria (nee Garcia) Romero. From the late 1980s through the 1990s, Mary was a bus aide for Lorain Head Start. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs.
Survivors include three daughters: Melissa Romero, Abby Romero, and Monica Wooten, all of Lorain; six grandchildren: Amanda Gunter, Mary Cuamani, Amber Torres, Julie, Alexis, and Jeremiah Rivera, all of Lorain; four sisters: Virginia Gonzalez, Roselita Garcia, Paula Rivera, and Diane Ortiz, all of Lorain; and two brothers: Luis Romero of Texas and Gary Romero of Lorain.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Austin Wooten (2010), a daughter Angie Morris (2011), and her grandson Corey Torres (2008).
Family and friends will be received Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. Pastor Arlon Lowe of Victory Baptist Temple, Elyria, will officiate the funeral service. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary's honor may be made at any branch of Fifth Third Bank in the name of the Mary J. Wooten Memorial Fund.
