Nathaniel Dais Obituary

Nathaniel Joe Dais, Sr. passed away on Saturday January 30, 2011 in Martinsburg, WV. He was born the second oldest of six children on February 25, 1936 in Camden, S.C. to the late Thomas Dais and Burley McLeod Dais.
Nathaniel was affectionately referred to as "Joe" by his family and friends. He graduated from St. Matthews H.S. in Camden, S.C. where he grew up. Joe served our country proudly as a veteran of the U.S. Navy and he worked for over 40 yrs. in the private security sector up until his retirement in 2007. He made immeasurable contributions to the lives of his family, friends and the community. He was very family oriented and loved to make people laugh. He loved fishing, bowling and spending time with those he loved and enjoyed having a good time at family gatherings. Joe was an avid traveler who enjoyed experiencing new places with his family.
He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin and friend to many. He was preceded in death by a brother Samuel Dais and a son Nathaniel Joe Dais, Jr.
He leaves to mourn: his beloved wife of 35 years, Betty Odessa Dais, and a daughter Bernadette Dais; He reared four grandchildren Michael, Mitchell, Brandi, and Brandon Dais and also leaves behind two additional grandchildren Nathaniel Joey, III and Natia Dais. He is also survived by a brother Thomas Dais, and three sisters Marie (Bennie) Payne, Thomasina Dais (Norman) and Alice (Allen-deceased) Williams. He also leaves to celebrate his life a host of great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
He was truly loved and will never be forgotten...We will see you again!
