Oda L. Walker
AVON - Oda L. Walker, 84, of Avon, formerly of Vermilion, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Avon, after a short illness.
Oda was born March 23, 1928 in Seminole, OK and had been a 20 year Vermilion resident. He had also lived in Cape Coral, FL.
He was a veteran of the
serving 4 years and the Marine Corp for 3 years serving during the
Oda worked for Ford Motor as a General Utilities Supervisor retiring in 1981.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion and he enjoyed playing golf.
His family includes his wife, Jean (nee Kramer) who died Sept. 3, 2009; parents, Oda and Florence (nee Head) Walker; sisters, Mildred Sebo, Lorraine Panzau, Virginia Begaldo, and Sandra Walker; and a brother, Bobby Jack Walker.
Graveside services will be held Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Father Ron Brickner will officiate and the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
