Obituary Condolences

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Patricia (Pat) Ann Warren Castro of San Francisco, CA died on Sunday, Oct.13th of an acute heart infection.
Pat was born in Pipestone, Minnesota and is the eldest daughter of the late Arthur and Viola Warren. She grew up on a dairy farm in Southwest Minnesota and cherished the time growing up with her four sisters. Pat attended St. Olaf in Northfield, MN and earned her bachelor's degree in nursing at St. Barnabas in St. Paul, MN. Upon graduation, she began her nursing career working in St. Paul. While in St. Paul she met her late husband Ramon (Ray) Castro. Pat married Ray and they initially lived in Manila, Phillipines. From Manila they moved to Vancouver, British Columbia where their first son, Darren was born. They continued their adventure in Honolulu, Hawaii and eventually they settled in Northeast Ohio where Rick, Matt, and Mark were born.
Pat and Ray raised their boys in Amherst, Ohio where they established their family roots for over twenty years. Pat resumed her nursing career as a newborn intensive care nurse at Fairview General Hospital. After all four boys graduated college and Ray had passed, Pat decided to enjoy her final chapter of life in San Francisco, California. She continued her nursing career, traveled the world, and enjoyed visiting family around the country. Pat also spent a few months a year in South Dakota and Minnesota. This time enabled her to catch up with her dear sisters, Karen, Barb, Ardelle and Susan. Despite the demands of world travel and family, she was able to develop a special bond with Dr. Phillip Walker. Pat and Phillip enjoyed a relationship built on friendship and love till her final hour.
Pat will be remembered for being a fun-loving sister, dedicated wife, admired mother, tender grandmother, well-respected co-worker and great friend. She exerted a positive influence throughout her life. She did her best every day and her focus was her family. .
Pat's legacy is her family and the positive impact she had upon those around her. Pat would not want you to remember her accomplishments. Her lasting legacy is her family. She was a loving sister and enjoyed a life-long relationship with her siblings. She was a proud mother of four sons, their wives and five grandchildren. She wanted nothing but the best for her family and friends.
Pat was placed into God's hands on Sunday, October 13th. Her death was unexpected but she left our world in peace.
Pat is survived by her four sisters, her four sons, and her 5 grandchildren. Her sisters, Karen Detmers, Barb Ramquist, Ardelle Bieberdorf, and Susan Warren reside in Minnesota and South Dakota, not too far from the farm where they grew up. Her eldest son Darren is married to Lisa, they have a daughter Sophia and reside in Centennial, CO. Her second oldest son is Rick married to Karen and they have a daughter Taylor and a son Jackson and reside in San Francisco, CA. The youngest are twins Matt and Mark. Matt lives in Denver, CO with his significant other Lisa and her daughter Alexa. Mark is married to Kate and they have two sons Ray and Myles and reside in Brookfield, IL.
Family will receive friends Friday, 5-7:30 p.m., at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. Closing prayers will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home, followed by 2 p.m., Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amherst.
