LORAIN - Raymond A. "Butch" Waters, age 64, of Lorain, passed away at his residence on Wednesday November 16th following an extended illness. |
He was born in Lorain on December 2, 1946 and had been a life-long resident of Lorain. Mr. Waters was a graduate on Admiral King High School and went on to receive his Associates Degree in Civil Engineering from Lorain County Community College. Butch was most recently employed as a construction inspector for Quality Control Inspection of Bedford. He had previously been employed by the Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company as well as Operating Engineers Local #18 of Cleveland.
He formerly played softball in a variety of adult leagues throughout greater Lorain County. He was also a member of VFW Post #451 of Lorain; in his free time he enjoyed reading and had a special interest in the works of Clive Cussler.
He is survived by his wife and companion of 30 years Sandra (nee Benco), by sons Raymond E. (Dawn) Waters of Lorain, and Troy Staszak both of Olympia, Washington, by daughters Gina (Todd) Meyers of Elyria, along with Antonette Bedient and Dawn Staszak both of Lorain, and 7 grandchildren. He also leaves his brother Kenneth of Vermilion, and sister Debi (Norm) James of Lorain.
Mr. Waters was preceded in death by his daughter Sandy Waters and by his parents Raymond E. and Jean (nee Litz) Waters.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday November 26th at 1:30 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. The Reverend Chris Robinson, Chaplain for New Life Hospice will officiate.
