Avon - Richard "Richie" A. Snezek Jr., 45, of Avon, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, at The Cleveland Clinic following a one-year heart illness.
He was born on October 2, 1967, in Amherst, and graduated from Amherst Steele High School in 1986.
For the past 6 years, Richie worked for Sifco Forge in Cleveland as a supervisor. Prior to that, he worked for many years at Western Enterprise in Avon Lake.
Richie was an avid golfer and video gamer. He enjoyed music and grilling, as well as all sports. He was a loyal Cleveland Browns fan.
He is survived by his son, Christian of Lorain; his mother, Mary Pentito of Amherst; his father, Richard A. (Barb) Snezek Sr. of Lorain; his fiancée, Dana Bauer with whom he made his home; her children, Lindsay Bauer of Lakewood and Jeffery Bauer of San Diego, CA; his brothers, Christopher of Amherst and Brian (Glenna) of Avon; his sister, Brittany (Ed) Becker of South Amherst; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Rita Pentito and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Elizabeth Snezek.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Closing prayers will be said on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his memory to the family.
