NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – Richard L. "Dick" Hooven, 83, passed away on January 4, 2012.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Jo (Harris) New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; his daughter, Peggy Lee Hooven of Middleburg, VA; his son and daughter-in-law, Richard Harris and Gina Hooven of Lorain, OH; stepdaughter, Angela of Lorain, OH; and his brother, Urlin D.
Hooven of Odessa, TX. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal from the United States Marines Corp and retired from the Lorain City Fire Department after 30 years of service. He was an avid boater, a long time member of Power Squadron, a Past Commodore of the Lorain Yacht Club, a member of the Blue Gavel, and the American Legion. He was a member of the First Congregational Church (United Church of Christ) in Lorain, OH for 70 years and belonged to Coronado Methodist Church in New Smyrna Beach.
A private service will be held for the family only.
