1915 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Robert (Bob) Goldstein
Robert (Bob) Goldstein passed away Friday morning, March 28, 2014, after recently celebrating his 99th birthday. Born on February 20, 1915 in West "by God" Virginia, Bob's family moved to New York and then Lorain, Ohio. A graduate of Lorain High School, he thereafter attended and graduated from The University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and Finance. Bob took pride in his service in the Army-Air Corps during WWII where he served at Wheeler Field, Hawaii and Guam. After the war, he returned to Lorain, Ohio where he married his beloved wife of 46 years, Margery, and raised their family. He took over the family business - an upscale women's clothing store, The Style Center, in downtown Lorain. He was a devoted member of Agudath B'nai Israel Temple, and a past president of B'nai Brith and Kiwanis Club.
Bob and Margie moved to Florida in 1979. A successful retiree of 35 years, Bob enjoyed the heat, playing golf and bridge, shelling with his grandchildren, and time spent with his family. Later hobbies included woodworking, lapidary and crossword puzzles. Bob was renowned for his gentlemanly ways, sweet-loving nature, sense of humor and love of everything chocolate.
He is predeceased by the love of his life, Margery.
He is survived by his three children, Jan Miller, Carol Wares, Joe Goldstein, sons-in-law, Dan Miller and Jim Wares, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
