POLAND - Rodger W. Klink, of Poland, Ohio, entered into rest on Monday, September 9, 2013 in the Hospice of the Valley Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. Rodger was born on March 3, 1947 in Niles, Ohio, the son of George and Betty Fox Klink. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1966.|
Following graduation, Rodger honorably served in the United States Army, serving overseas in Viet Nam.
He had been employed as an independent cross country truck driver, driving extensively through-out the United States and Canada.
Rodger's pastimes included motorcycling and four-wheeling, fishing, spending time at the Mahoning Valley Sportsmanship Club and just enjoying life to the fullest.
He was a member with the VFW Post 2799 in New Springfield and the Allen Lodge #276 F&AM.
Cherished memories of Rodger will be carried on by his family, his daughter Monica (Chris) Mithchell and his son, Jethro (Jamie) Klink; his grandchildren, Brandon Mitchell, Scott Mitchell, Evan Mitchell, Katie Mitchell, Adam Moody and Jayce Klink; his mother, Betty Klink and his companion, Linda Russell.
Preceding Rodger were his father, George Klink; his daughter, Amanda Klink; his brother, George "JR" Klink; his first wife, Joyce Soules and his second wife, Marilyn Klink.
The family will receive friends beginning on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 2799 in New Springfield, Ohio where a service will be held at 6:00 p.m. A fellowship will follow until 8:00 p.m.
Arrangements for Rodger were entrusted to the Borowski Funeral Service and Oak Meadow Cremation Services.
