AMHERST – Ronald Linn, age 66, of Amherst, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 in Lorain following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born on July 3, 1949 in Norwalk, he graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in 1967. He served in the Army National Guard for 2 years.
For over 40 years, Ron worked as an engineer at Invacare, retiring in 2011.
An avid runner, Ron ran several marathons throughout the years, including the Boston Marathon. He also enjoyed bicycling, motorcycles, Mustangs and spending time with his family.
He was a member of the Lorain Wheelman and Amherst Eagles.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet (nee Damon); his son, Corey (Jennifer), of South Amherst; his daughter, Ashley, of Amherst; his grandchildren, Virginia "Gia" Curtan, Hannah Linn, Devin Linn and Audrey Gula; his mother, Eleanor (nee Wilson), of Amherst; his sisters, Debbie (Larry) Abraham and Dawn (Tony) Karnik, both of Lorain; and his brother, Rod (Amy), of LaGrange.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Harold; his sister, Diane and his brother, Daniel.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst.
