Rose H. Carpino (nee Davoli), age 77, a lifelong resident of Lorain passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at Specialty Hospital of Lorain in Amherst.
She was born on July 9, 1936 in Lorain, Ohio to Carmen and Emily (nee Trappso) Davoli and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1954. While in high school she worked at the Five-and ten store upon her graduation from high school she worked at Home Dairy for 3 years.
Rose was a member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain and had strong faith and devotion to God. On behalf of the church she would send out birthday and get well cards to the parishioners. Her amazing spirit and positive attitude made her an inspiration and a joy to be around. She was a homemaker and loved her popcorn and gum and her monthly outings with her high school girlfriends.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Louie Michael Carpino Jr.; son, Louie (Roxanne) Carpino, of Clintonville, Wisconsin; daughter, Tina Marie (Jim) Kamholz, of Amherst; grandchildren, Amanda (Ray) Harker, Taneesha Marrero and Ross (Katie) Carpino; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (Alina) Davoli and Frank (Rita) Davoli.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Anthony Carpino; parents, Carmen and Emily Davoli; and sister, Marie Carpino Dieterich.
The Carpino family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst where closing prayers will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Craig Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Private family interment will take place.
The family request donations be made in memory of Rose to the Church of St. Peter.

Louie and the family: I'm from the class of '54. I remember the good times we had. We all were good friends. I left Lorain in 1956 and did not have many opportunities to attend reunions. Whenever I was there, I always looked for Rose and her brother Frank. My prayers are with you and the members of the Carpino family. God Bless...
