AVON - Ruth Greene (nee Reffert), 95, of Avon, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Rae Ann Nursing Home, Westlake.
She was born Jan. 4, 1918, in Cleveland, and had lived in Avon for over 60 yrs., coming from Cleveland.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Avon, and a member of the Church's Guild. She enjoyed travelling, camping at Clar-Mar Lake in Wellington, cooking, canning, gardening, sewing and playing BINGO at the Avon Knights of Columbus Hall.
She is survived by four children: Karen Matzelle, Kathy Greene, Kenneth (Chris) Greene, and Karla (John) Thornton;and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Greene on July 22, 2004; and son-in-law, Adolf Matzelle.
Friends will be received Tues. 3-6 p.m. at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Road, Avon, where closing prayers will be Wed. 9:30 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Avon. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Detroit Rd., Avon.
