LORAIN - Sandra L. Brock (nee Bixby), 67, of Lorain passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a brief illness.
Mrs. Brock was born in Cloverdale on December 24, 1945, the daughter of the late Marvin L. and F. Betty (nee Woreline) Bixby. She was a 1963 graduate of Admiral King High School, and then Lorain County Community College, as an Xray Technician.
She was a retired CAT scan technician at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain; retiring in 2008 following 35 years of service.
Mrs. Brock had been a member of the Moose Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, gardening, but received the greatest enjoyment form spending time with her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by sons James A. (Tamara) Brock of Lorain, Michael L. (Veronica) Brock of Sheffield Twp; daughters Tammy R. (Steve Schwarz) Brock of Vermilion, Ashley N. Brock of Lorain; grandchildren Matt, Joey, Dustin, Corey, Daniel, Tylre, Triston; and great grandchildren Gabrielle, Daniel, Adriana, Abagail, Preston, Xavier, and Alexandria.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Donna L Barker in 1995 and a brother Raymond Bixby.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
