LORAIN - Sharon Hodge (nee Vanek), 70, of Lorain, passed away following a brief illness on Wednesday, July 11, 2013 at her home in Lorain.
She was born in St. Joseph hospital on April 12, 1943 and had lived in Ohio all her life. Sharon was a loving mother. She enjoyed gardening, was very active with PTO at Garfield Elementary for many years and she loved animals.
Survivors include: sons, William (Debbie) Hodge of Sheffield Township, Brian (Nina) Hodge and Michael Hodge, both of Lorain; brothers, Dale Vanek, Charles Vanek and Robert Vanek; sister, Katie Gillespie; and grandchildren, Allyssa, Jacob, Jeremy, Julian, McKenzie, Leylah and Aleyah.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William Hodge; parents, Charles and Evelyn (nee Johnson) Vanek; and sisters, Marilyn Counts and Linda Christian.
Friends and family may attend celebration of life on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. at
1301, 203 W 6th St., Lorain, Ohio.
