Terrence George "Terry" Tansey Jr. Obituary
ELYRIA - Terrence "Terry" George Tansey Jr., age 45 and a resident of Elyria, died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at his residence.
Terry was born in Lorain, April 15, 1966 to Terrence G. Tansey Sr. and Kathleen (nee McQueen) Queen. He was a 1985 graduate of Firelands High School. Terry was a karate instructor with a fifth degree blackbelt. Since the late 1980s Terry owned and operated both T.G.T.'S Martial Arts in Amherst and T.G.T.'S Drive-Thru located in Elyria.
Survivors include his mother and step-father Kathleen and Delbert L. Queen of Amherst, his father Terrence G. Tansey Sr. of Vermilion, a brother Tim (Ann) Tansey of South Amherst, three sisters; Carrie (Todd) Ott of Vermilion, Jenny Haas of Birmingham, Melissa Davis of Amherst, and ten nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents William and Norma McQueen and paternal grandparents George and Winifred Tansey.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald Brickner, pastor of St. Mary Church, Vermilion, officiating. Burial will follow in Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
