AMHERST - Terry L. Wengerd, age 59, of Amherst passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at his home.
He was born on September 15, 1954 in Massillon, Ohio to Alva and Lois Wengerd. He was a 1972 graduate of Tuslaw High School in North Lawrence, Ohio. Terry has been employed by USS/Kobe / Republic Steel since 1978.
Terry enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, camping and football. He was an all-around "handyman". He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Christina (nee Willard); son, Ryan Wengerd, of Amherst; daughters, Nichole Murr, of Amherst and Alexis Bordy, of Lagrange; granddaughter, Natalie Meyer; sisters, Sherri Dancy, of Massillon and Linda Easterday, of North Lawrence; nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Linda (Dorley) Dorsey; father-in-law, John (Sandy) Willard; and grandmother-in-law, May Ruth Bentley.
Terry was preceded in death by his son, David Wengerd; and his parents, Alva and Lois Wengerd.
The Wengerd family will receive friends on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 3:00- 7:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will held immediately following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral center. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
