AMHERST - Terry Zelina, 47, of Amherst, died Friday, March 14, 2014, in the intensive care unit at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain after a long illness.|
He was born December 14, 1966, in Lorain and had been a lifelong Amherst resident.
Terry graduated from Lorain Catholic High School in 1985 and attended Kent State University.
Terry was a self employed auto mechanic who had started his own shop. He enjoyed working on cars, gymnastics and loved his dogs. He was a magician and put on magic shows in the area.
He was a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain where he served mass as an altar boy and was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol and St. Ann Lodge.
He is survived by his mother, Glenice A. Zelina (nee Nocjar); father, Alan J. Zelina; brother, Kevin Zelina; uncle, Delvyn Nocjar; nieces, Katherine and Kylie Zelina; and nephew, Matthew Zelina.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Donald Dunson, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township, will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
