Thelma Lucille Hoak
Thelma Lucille Hoak (nee Jordan), formerly of Vermilion and Lorain died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home, Lorain, after a lengthy illness.
Thelma was born April 22, 1926 in Luzerne, PA. She had been a Lorain resident since 1970 moving from Vermilion. .
Thelma had worked at Lorain Community Hospital in the housekeeping department. She had attended the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed ceramics and going out to dinner.
She is survived by her son, Don (Eva) Newman of Akron; daughter, Debbie J. (Lester Cogar) Runyon of Mogadore; grandchildren, Kelly, Donald, Wes, Donald and Debbie; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Donald and Elmer Jordon of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Effie Mae (nee Barnes) Jordan; 1st husband, Donald Newman, 1963; 2nd husband, William Hoak Sr; sister, Geraldine Kezmarski, and brother, Clarence Jordan.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Nick Cacciatore will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions to New Life Hospice of St. Joseph, 3500 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44035.
