Wanda was a lifelong resident of Lorain and attended Admiral King and Southview High Schools. She was a person of many gifts and talents, and used them to minister to her family and countless friends. She truly loved the Lord and evidenced her great faith in Him through the love with which she embraced anyone she met.
Wanda was a devoted homemaker, quilter, jewelry designer, home decorator, child care provider, seamstress, Sunday School teacher, and a great wife. She also loved singing, and was a talented accordion and tambourine player.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Saul A. Torres of Lorain; father, Luis Santiago of Tampa, Fla., sons, Saul E. Torres of Lorain, Ariel I. Torres of Parma Heights and Gamaliel F. Torres of New York; daughter, Amarilis V. Torres of Lorain; six grandchildren; brothers, Juan Santiago-Escobar, George Santiago, Caleb Santiago and Seth Santiago, all of Florida; sisters, Gloria Santiago of New York, Mercedes Navarro of PR, Rita Patterson of Canada, Blanca Acosta of Florida and Pricila Gran of Cincinnati.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lydia Elsie Torres; and brother, Luis Santiago.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Church on the North Coast, 4125 Leavitt Road, Lorain, where funeral services will be 9 a.m. Thursday. Pastors Louis Kayatin and Paul Gonzalez will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
