Dorothy V. (Kozel) Niemiec Obituary
WESTLAKE - Dorothy V. Niemiec (nee Kozel), 88, of Westlake Village, Calif., and formerly of Lorain and Amherst, died peacefully Friday, January 31, 2014.
She was born in Pennsylvania on March 16, 1925. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, and crocheting. While raising their family, Dorothy was an active member of Nativity BVM Catholic Church and school in Lorain.
She is survived by her son Tom (Eileen) Niemiec of North Ridgeville; her daughters Diane (Bill) Hall of Satellite Beach, Fla., Gail (Nick) Motto of Elk Grove, Calif., and Andrea (Dewey) Perrigo of Westlake Village, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Andy in 2000; her son Terry in 2013; her parents Jack and Mary (nee Pavol) Kozel; her sisters Mary Faulhaber, Rose Gibbons, Frances Conrath, Cecilia Yourkievich, and Theresa Mey; and her brothers John and Joseph Kozel.
Friends will be received Sunday 4-8 p.m. at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Road, Avon, where closing prayer will be on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. mass at Nativity BVM Catholic Church, 418 W. 15th St., Lorain, with Rev. Robert Glepko, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to Mary Health of the Sick Convalescent and Nursing Hospital, 2929 Theresa Drive, Newbury Park, CA 91320.
