LORAIN - Elizabeth T. Konieczny (nee Thompson), 79, of Lorain, died Friday, February 7, 2014 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home, Lorain after a short illness.
She was born March 10, 1934 in Warrington, England and had been a Lorain resident since 1954 moving from England.
Elizabeth worked for Deluca's Place In the Park and Deluca's Bakery for over 30 years as a baker and caterer.
She had been a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Lorain and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Lorain. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and playing BINGO.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Konieczny; sons, Michael (Rebecca), Alan, and Paul (Susan) Konieczny all of Lorain; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Brian Birchall of Long Island, N.Y., and James Thompson of New Zealand; and sister, Beryl Mooney of Warrington, England.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Alice Thompson; sister, Mary Thompson; and a brother, Alan Birchall.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Craig Hovanec will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
