ELYRIA - Helen Baracskai, 94 of Elyria, died Tuesday, February 3, 2014 at her home.|
Born in Hungary, she came to Ohio to join her father with her mother and brother at the age of 3. They settled in Lorain. She graduated from Lorain High School. She moved to Elyria when she married her husband Joseph. They were married for 57 1/2 years. He passed away in December 2004. She continued to reside in their home a total of 63 years.
She was employed at Moen Inc. and retired in 1983 after 42 years of service. She was an inspector for most of her career.
She loved spending time with her daughter and granddaughters and loved to go shopping with them. She also enjoyed walking in the mall with her friends. She loved her time as a home maker and caring for her family.
She was a long time member of the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ in Lorain. She attended services faithfully her entire life and was one of the oldest remaining members.
She is survived by her only daughter Joyce (Dennis) Mullett; two granddaughters, Ellissa Rizor of Lima, Elayna (Elijah) Keating of Columbus; and one great-grand daughter Eliana Keating.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Persensky; a brother Steven Persensky; and a nephew, Charles Persensky.
There will be no public viewing per her wishes. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Reichlin-Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St. Elyria. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15th at the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ, 1691 E 31st St. in Lorain at 11:00 am. Luncheon to follow.
