LORAIN - Sallie "Sis" W. Noble, of Lorain, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2014 in the Cleveland Clinic following a lengthy illness.|
She was born in Columbus, Mississippi coming to Lorain in 1960. She was employed with the ARA food service with Ford Motor Company, Lorain, retiring after 27 years of service.
Mrs. Noble was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Lorain she served on the Mother's Board, Nurses Guild, Senior Choir and a former member of Second New Hope Baptist Church in Lorain.
Mrs. Noble loved cooking and sewing, poems she was an avid fisher woman, enjoyed traveling and being with family and friends.
She is survived by daughters, Judy Ann (Larry) Williams of Atlanta Ga., JoAnn Beckwith, Nancy Noble both of Lorain, Carla (Terry) Mercer of Jacksonville, Fla., Carlett Lisa (Darnell) Jr. Spraggins of Elyria; sons, Samuel W. (Axya) Noble of American Cannon Cal., Dempsey Noble Jr., of Miami, Fla., Melvin (Sarah) Noble of Columbia, S.C., Jerry Lee Noble of Lorain, Tony L. (Jennifer) Noble of North Ridgeville, Timothy (Tamica) Noble, Sr., of Pickerington, Ohio, William C. "Billy" Noble of Elyria and Otis J. Noble of Jacksonville, Fla.; 28 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; sister, Mary L. Thomas-Cook of Lorain; brothers, Unice W. (Bertha) Rice of Lorain, Willie E. (Connie) Rice of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Nancy Rice; husband, Dempsey Noble Sr.; sister, Lucille Pryor; a grandson Alijah R. Noble; and a granddaughter Sallie Ann Johnson.
Friends may call Friday, February 21, 2014 at 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, 3880 Dayton Ave., Lorain, services will follow Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Loversier Lewis will officiate, burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
