LORAIN - Elsie Theresa Matos, age 58 and a lifelong resident of Lorain, went to be with her savior on Sunday, February 23, 2014, at Mercy Regional Medical Center. She will live on through others thanks to her organ donation for the gift of life.
She attended Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Elsie was a caregiver (certified nursing assistant) employed by First Choice, Elyria for the past ten years. She was a 1975 graduate of Admiral King High School.
Elsie enjoyed shopping and spending time with her extended family.
Survivors include brothers Timoteo (Carmen) Matos Jr. of New York, Efrain (Annette) Matos of Lorain; sisters Edna (Shorty) Matos and Irma Matos, both of Lorain; her special aunt Esi Pagan of Lorain; and six nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Timoteo Ramos Matos and Carmen Pagan Ayala.
Family will receive friends Saturday, 10 a.m. until time of mass at noon at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. William Thaden will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
