RAVENNA - Elaine Joan O'Dor (Friedl) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Cleveland Clinic on February 27, 2014.
She was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Lorain, the only child of Louise and Arnold Friedl.
In her "hey days", she enjoyed socializing and traveling with her tall friends from the Skyscraper Club of Cleveland (affiliate of the American Association of Tall Clubs International). She had fond memories and made lifelong friends with this group. She married Donald O'Dor of Amherst on Nov 25, 1961, at St. Joseph Church in Lorain.
Work brought the O'Dors to Ravenna in 1967.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Donald; son, Douglas (Michelle); and her pride and joy granddaughter, Alexandra, all of Ravenna; and faithful daughter and advocate, Linda O'Dor of Columbus. She also leaves many great friends and family in Ravenna, Lorain and the Cleveland area; special uncle, Bill Ekey of Parma; and cousin, Nancy Goldstein of California.
Elaine was a loving wife and mother, enjoyed spending time with her family and becoming a perfect homemaker. She took pride in making the holidays special with seasonal decorations and food. She was employed as a dental assistant in her younger years in Lorain, and later as a "lunch lady" for 19 years with the Ravenna Schools.
