Wayne Martin Pyrda
STOCKBRIDGE, GA - Wayne Martin Pyrda, 57, passed away on February 25, 2014 in Stockbridge, Georgia. He was born September 27, 1956 and resided in Sheffield Lake. He worked at the Ford Brookpark Engine plant and transferred and retired from the Atlanta Ford Plant in Hapeville, Georgia. He was a 1975 graduate of Brookside High School. In 2003, he was inducted into the Brookside High School Athletic Hall of Fame with the 1972 Baseball team for their accomplishments in the sectional, regional and district tournament. He also played basketball in middle and high school. Wayne enjoyed bowling, following baseball and basketball teams and collecting coins. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sarah Russell Pyrda (nee Price), son Thomas Martin and daughter Sarah Elizabeth, sisters Linda (Richard) Ackerman, Sharon (Robert V.) May, brother Brian (Jennifer) Pyrda, and step sister Kathy Kieryk, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Pyrda and Virginia Pyrda-Kieryk, and step father Joseph Kieryk.
The family will receive friends on Friday March 7, 2014 at the MISENCIK FUNERAL HOME, 36363 Detroit Rd. Avon from 9:00 AM until time of parlor service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brookside High School Athletic Hall of Fame, 1812 Harris Road, Sheffield Village, Ohio 44054.
