Robin J. Hardwick
LORAIN - Robin J. Hardwick (nee Deering) age 40, lost her battle with life surrounded by her family and friends on April 4th, 2014 while a patient at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born in Lorain on March 31st, 1974 and remained a life-long resident of the city. Robin left to reunite with her daughter Alexis and grandparents Jack and Mary Yakovich who were her first loves.
A 1992 graduate of Southview High School, she was regarded as a beautiful person with a heart of gold, Robin enjoyed gourmet cooking and had previously been employed in the food service industry. She possessed a flair for decorating and enjoyed working with plants in her free time.
Survivors include her husband Gregory Hardwick and his daughter Courtney, her mother Christine Deering, her father Dave Deering and his wife Barb, half-sisters Erica and Sabrina, and half-brother David. She also leaves her aunt Peggi DeCarlo, cousins Dave and Dan DeCarlo, the uncle whom she adored, Matt Yakovich, and one of her best friends Margi Rivera Kates who remained with her until the very end.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to either Robin's family, or to the Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
