Robert "Bob" O. Powell Jr.
AMHERST – Robert "Bob" O. Powell Jr., age 54, of Amherst passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from complications of diabetes.
He was born on March 17, 1960 in Lorain, Ohio to Robert and Janet (nee King) Powell and was a 1978 graduate of Brookside High School.
Bob was employed as a courier for Fed Ex for 22 years. He enjoyed bowling, golf, playing poker and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Stephen Powell, of Amherst; daughter, Erica (Matt) Rehak, of South Amherst; grandsons, Dylan Robert Rehak and Gavin Charles-Paul Rehak; his father, Robert O. Powell Sr.; brothers, James (Diane) Powell, George (LaJean) Powell and Fred Powell; sisters, Obbie (Barry) Herter, Betty (Sylvestre) Loera; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and former wife, Susie Godfrey.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Powell.
The Powell family will receive friends on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral center. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
