Stephen V. Woytus
AVON – Stephen V. Woytus, 86, of Avon, died Wed., May 7, 2014 at St. Mary of the Woods, Avon, after a brief illness.
He was born July 27, 1927 in Armbrust, PA, and has lived in Avon for over 50 yrs., moving from Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania.
He was employed by the Brookpark Plant of
as a foreman, retiring after 35 yrs. of service.
He was a member of St. Mary Of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Avon.
He enjoyed gardening, horse racing, but his grandchildren were the love of his life and he enjoyed spending his time with them.
He is survived by his wife of 60 yrs.: Mary Catherine J. (nee Pravlik); daughter: Kristine Pitts of Elyria; son: David (Teresa) Woytus of Columbia Station; grandchildren: Jason, Jessica, Jeffrey, Stephanie, and Samantha; sisters: Agnes Savisky, Pauline Puskar, and Margaret Plevelich.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Katherine Woytus; sisters: Josephine and Anne; brothers: Paul and Joseph.
Friends will be received today, Friday 4-8 p.m. at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Road, Avon, where closing prayers will be Sat. 9:30 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. mass at St. Mary Of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Avon. Interment will be private.
