Nina A. (Mulhern) Prinz Obituary
LORAIN - Nina A. (nee Mulhern) Prinz, age 61, of Lorain passed away on Friday morning, May 9, 2014, at the home of her daughter in Avon following a long illness.
Mrs. Prinz was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on July 7, 1952, the daughter of the late James P. and Margaret K (nee Minnich) Mulhern.
She was a graduate of Lorain High School in the class of 1971, earned an Associate Degree from Lorain Community College in business, 1990, received a bachelor's degree from Baldwin Wallace University in accounting.
She was a member of St. Mary Church in Lorain. She worked as a controller at Corporate Screening in Strongsville for 15 plus years retiring because of failing health in 2013. She had also been employed by the American Crucible in Lorain and Duffin Manufacturing in Elyria.
Mrs. Prinz was a member of the Eagle's Auxiliary in Amherst. A loving and devoted Mother and sister, she loved spending time with her family and attended almost all her children's sporting events. She was an avid Cleveland Browns Fan (twenty five years as a season "Dog pound" ticket holder), was a volunteer tax preparer, served as vice president and secretary for her bowling league, enjoyed gardening, music, movies and live theater.
Nina is survived by daughter, Deborah M. (Mark) Prinz-Gentile, of Avon; son, Jeffrey P. Prinz (fiancee' Kristine Gabriel) of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; sisters, Margaret K. LeRoy) Dunn of Turnersville, N.J, Mollie (Peter) Daniels of Barrington, N.J, Maureen (Matthew) Bernard, of Amherst, and brother James P. Mulhern of Medford, N.J.
Friends may call on Monday, May 12, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 13, 2014, beginning with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Eight and Reid Avenues in Lorain. Rev. Daniel O. Divis, pastor will be the celebrant.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Mercy-New Life Hospice, c/o Mercy Foundation of Lorain County, 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain, Ohio 44053.
