VERMILION – Lois Tarrant (nee Stockman), 77, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Mill Manor Nursing Home, Vermilion after a short illness.
She was born December 7, 1936 in Vermilion where she has been a life long resident.
Lois worked for the Vermilion Schools as the cafeteria manager for 29 years, retiring in 1997. She had also worked for the Vermilion News.
She was a member of the Vermilion United Church of Christ Congregational, Madeleine Chapter #204 O.E.S., and the VFW Post # 7576 Auxiliary. She enjoyed tole painting, stained glass work, sewing, and camping in the National Parks.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Tarrant of Vermilion; daughters, Barbara (Larry) Akers of Vermilion, Patricia (Bill) Goetz of Cincinnati, and Lorri (Joseph) Arizmendi of Elyria; 6 grandchildren: Jessica, Steve, Dianna, Brian, Christie (Shawn), and Bill (Elizabeth); great-grandchildren, Billy and Connor; and brother, Larry Stockman of Cross, S.C..
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Sr. and Lillian C. (nee Reising) Stockman and infant son, Alan Paul Tarrant.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 4 pm until the time of an Eastern Star Service and Memorial Service at 6:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, OH. The Reverend Bob Richardson will officiate.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the United Church of Christ Congregational, 990 State St., Vermilion, OH 44089.
