VERMILION – Joyce Ann Buchanan (nee Kilgore), 77, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Admiral's Pointe Nursing Home, Huron after a lengthy illness.
She was born January 4, 1937 in Jackham, KY and had spent most of her life in Vermilion moving from Dearborn, MI.
Joyce worked as the Food Service Director for the Vermilion Local Schools for many years retiring the first time in 1997 and again in 2007.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Thomas) Adkins of Vermilion, Kathy (Gary) Cannady of Indianapolis, IN, and Donna (Andy) Keen of Vermilion; sons, Bruce (Lisa) Buchanan of Vermilion and Brandon (Carrie) Buchanan of Vermilion; grandchildren: Chris (Emily) Adkins, Traci (Anthony) Van Antwerp, Ryan (Katie) Adkins, Brooke Adkins, Kristen and Jennifer Cannady, Brittany, Heather, and Tyler Keen, and Nate, Josh, Lucas, Caitlyn, and Austin Buchanan; great grandchildren, Noah, Sydney, Isaac, and Adam Adkins, and Cameron Van Antwerp; sister, Patricia (Kirk) Malone of FL; and brothers, Charles (Vickie) Collins of GA, and Doug Collins of FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel R. Buchanan who died on January 28,1993; parents, Joe and Dixie (nee Hall) Kilgore; brother, Fred Kilgore; and sister, Christine Kilgore.
Private services were held with interment at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
