Ana M. Irizarry
LORAIN – Ana M. Irizarry (nee Soto), 64, of Lorain, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at New Life Hospice Residential Center.
Born May 25, 1950 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, she came to Lorain with her family when she was a baby. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1968.
For many years, Ana worked as a cafeteria lady for Lorain City Schools retiring in 2010.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel. Ana had a passion for music and especially enjoyed dancing and listening to oldies music and The Beatles. She enjoyed baking and was best known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies. She also liked to paint on canvas.
Ana is survived by her husband, Rafael, her sons, Rafael Andrew (Jennifer), of Amherst, and Adam, of Lorain; her daughters, Devi (John) Stockard, of Avon and Alicia Irizarry, of Las Vegas; 6 grandchildren; brothers, Edwin (Nereida) Soto, Domingo Soto, Jr., Efrain (Kim) Soto, Rolando Soto and Ricardo (Terri) Soto; sisters, Nelida (Luis) Salva, Lillian (Felipe) DeLeon, Iris (Efrain) Gonzalez, Diane (Paul) Dismuke, Sylvia, (Franklin) Brown, Edivia (William) Gabriel and Alicia (Doug) McNeil.
She was preceded in death by her parents Domingo and Isabel Soto and her sister, Sonia Soto.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Rd., Amherst. Friends may also call on Friday June 13th from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
